From classics like NOSFERATU to modern spectacles like IT, this concert promises to immerse its attendees in a world of dark enchantment. In THE OMEN, Jerry Goldsmiths ominous composition sends shivers down the spines of all who hear it.
With a swift change in tone, the symphony transitions into the whimsical world of THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, music by genius Danny Elfman. Ethereal strings and dissonant brass create an atmosphere of impending dread, reflecting the descent into madness depicted in Stanley Kubrick’s cinematic masterpiece THE SHINING and plunging into the twisted world of SAW, the dissonant and discordant notes intertwine, creating a sense of unease and anticipation.
From the depths of the ocean, the iconic JAWS theme with it’s pulsating bass and ominous crescendos evoke the terror of a great white shark lurking beneath the waves. We hear haunting chants, ominous choirs, and dissonant chords in THE EXORCIST and the mysterious and unsettling music to ROSEMARY’S BABY reflects the psychological horror of Roman Polanski’s masterpiece.
In order not to make the concert too frightening, the comedic part is also not neglected. BEETLEJUICE, a lively and macabre medley captures the whimsical yet eerie nature of Tim Burton’s gothic tale, a visit at THE ADDAMS FAMILY can never hurt, and the so popular tune from GHOSTBUSTERS are part of the concert as well.
And one more iconic piece: the chilling score from Alfred Hitchcock’s PSYCHO. The stabbing strings and jarring melodies invoke the presence of the infamous Norman Bates, sending a final surge of suspense through the concert hall.
